Liverpool’s inaugural Mayoral Ball will raise funds for the Cancer Wellness Centre and the Youth Adult Disabled Association.
The Ball will be held on August 23 and promises to be the city’s premier event of the year. The black-tie event includes a three-course meal, live entertainment and the opportunity to network with civic leaders and business people, and have a great time.
“This is a very exciting time to live, work or play in Liverpool,” Mayor Ned Mannoun said. ‘‘As Liverpool grows in importance in Sydney’s South West, it is fitting we host a major civic event to celebrate our City.
“While having fun, you will also be supporting two important local charities.
“I hope to raise $50,000 to share between the Cancer Wellness Centre and the Youth Adult Disabled Association (YADA).”
This year’s event will be held at La Roma Function Centre and tickets are now selling. There are three levels of corporate sponsorship available. For more details go to: www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/mayoralball.
Cancer Wellness Centre:
Liverpool Hospital will build a new Cancer Wellness Centre in Goulburn Street, Liverpool. Close to the Cancer Therapy Centre, the centre will be used by patients recovering from cancer. It will have the feel of a home, rather than a hospital and offer therapies for patients following cancer treatment.
Youth Adult Disabled Association (YADA):
YADA has provided social support for people with disabilities for more than 25 years. YADA runs a day-centre group two days a week at a local community hall where people participate in activities to enhance their confidence and living skills. Contact them onwww.yada.com.au
