The Campbelltown CBD is set to rock over three days.
On May 17, 18 and 19 Live and Local will bring live music at venues and locations on and around the CBD.
Not only will Live and Local add to the atmosphere of the CBD for visitors, it will give venues the opportunity to see the benefits of having regular live music performances on their premises as well as provide employment and professional development opportunities for local musicians.
The Live and Local model was created by the Live Music Office and is funded by Create NSW to help increase venue-based live music and performance culture in communities across Australia.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said more than 50 performers from around western Sydney applied to take part in the event.
“Of these, more than 20 will perform during the three-day event that aims to breathe an extra sense of life and excitement into the Campbelltown CBD,” he said.
“The high quality of all the applicants made it very difficult to select the successful acts.
“The result is a diverse range of acts and genres, including soloists, duos, small bands, hip hop beat makers, hip hop freestyler, rockabilly, folk, pop and jazz.
“It just goes to show the extraordinary breadth of talent that exists in Western Sydney.
