live broadcasts on the way for Group Six
The Camden Rams and Narellan Jets local derby will be the first game to be broadcast live on the internet by the Group Six media team on June 18.

Group Six Rugby League will soon be broadcasting matches live on the internet.

Its media team, headed by Mike Shean, will be broadcasting first grade matches for the rest of the season, beginning with the local derbies on June 18 and 19 before selecting matches to broadcast leading into the finals.

The matches will be broadcast online and will be available through the Group Six Rugby League website, official Facebook page and also through the Group Six League Live Facebook page, allowing listeners from outside the local region to enjoy the competition’s high quality action.

Shean, who weekly match reports are also published here in the Voice in Macarthur, says he’s excited by the chance to broadcast the competition this season, with plenty of good matches on offer before the Finals Series.

“The First Grade premiership has been one of the best in recent years, and the fact we’re now going to be broadcasting these games only highlights the support from the local community,’’ Shean said.

‘With businesses coming on board as sponsors of our coverage, we’re excited to be calling these games, and can’t wait to begin in the coming weeks.

“We’re always looking for more sponsors to come on board, and local businesses love their footy, so the connection will be there.

“Anyone who’s interested can contact me for more information.

“We’ll be using social media to support our calls, and also to provide an opportunity for fans of all teams to show their support heading into one of the most even competitions in years,’’ Shean said.

The first match for broadcast will be Camden Rams hosting neighbouring Narellan Jets at Kirkham Park, on Saturday June 18, followed by Picton Magpies at home to the Thirlmere Roosters on Sunday, June 19.
