We underestimate the emphasis and importance that words have on our overall wellbeing, writes MARGARET LAMBERT in her latest column.

Often it’s the simplest of words and phrases that make all the difference to how we feel.

Words of inspiration and encouragement can lift our spirits and have us strive towards pursuing our goals while words of a different kind can diminish us in a flash.

Funnily enough, it seems that many of us focus more on the negative words that have us feel we are not good enough.

We so often get caught up in our busy lives that we make little or no time to pay attention to the words that can boost us in self-love and self-growth.

We are also bombarded by so much of the negative aspects of human life that we tend to forget to notice the many miracles in our lives each day as well as all of the inspiration that surrounds us: the people in our community who perform amazing work; the talents that are displayed through the efforts of artistic creators; the kindness that is offered in small and large ways; the unnoticed gifts offered to the world by so many – unnoticed because good news doesn’t make headlines.

In an effort to offer small words of encouragement and reflection, I have published my next book, Longing to Live Mindfully: Little Words that make a Difference.

The book contains original and inspirational quotes for each day of the year put together in a perpetual format that can be used over and over again.

From the back cover:

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“For those who are on a journey of self-growth towards self-love and self-worth, this little book leads you step by step, day by day. When we grow in self-love, we become more compassionate and peaceful people. This undertaking is not only of benefit to ourselves, but is a gift to the whole world.”[/social_quote]

The daily inspirations in the book also encourage your own reflections and action steps towards self-love and self-growth.

The book is available as a handy size paperback that provides space for your self–reflections each day or there is also a simple ebook available.

All proceeds from the sale of the book go to ChildFund Australia, helping children in developing countries – I would love for you to support this great cause and bring into your lives little words that make a difference.
