
The Mittagong Lions are the first team to be eliminated from the 2025 Macarthur Conference rugby league premiership finals.
Lions just couldn’t match it with The Oaks Tigers, going down 30-10 in the elimination final played at Waminda Oval, East Campbelltown.
In the qualification final, a clash between the teams finishing second and third, Oakdale Workers were too good for Campbelltown Collegians, winning 50-14.
Oakdale will now take on minor premiers Camden Rams in the major semi final to be played at Kirkham Park from 3pm this Sunday, Father’s Day.
The winner will go straight into the grand final and await for a week to see who they will play.
The minor semi final – also at Kirkham Park – will be between The Oaks Tigers and Collegians, with a 1.15pm kick off
The loser will be eliminated, while the winner will qualify for the preliminary final on Sunday, Sept 14 at Dudley Chesham Sports Ground at The Oaks, 3pm kick off
The grand final is scheduled or a week later on Sunday, September 21 at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
Camden Rams won the minor premiership after losing just the one match during the 18 rounds of home and away.
Collegians finished second, six points behind, after what was a very successful season or the Campbelltown club.
Oakdale Workers, The Oaks Tigers and Mittagong Lions finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.
Campbelltown City Kangaroos missed out on the finals by just one point, but they’re a club on the rise and will be ones to watch in 2026.
Picton Magpies, East Campbelltown Eagles, and Thirlmere Roosters occupied seventh, eighth and nine spots.
The Narellan Jets picked up the wooden spoon even though they finished equal on premiership points with the South West Goannas but with a much worse differential – minus 499 compared with minus 350 for the Goannas.
