Camden fine amnesty for overdue items borrowed from libraries. Fines will be waived if library users bring along cans of food or wool.
Narellan Library: Camden Council has announced a fine amnesty for overdue items borrowed from its libraries. Fines will be waived if library users bring along cans of food or wool.

Camden Council has announced that canned goods and wool are now accepted as payment for overdue library items at Camden and Narellan libraries.

The Can Your Fines appeal will run until February 15 to encourage people to return anything borrowed that is late for return.

Any overdue books, toys, DVDs, CDs or magazines brought back during the fine amnesty need to be returned with canned goods (within six months of expiry) or eight-ply knitting wool to have the fines waived.

Council says that all of the good received in lieu of library fines will be donated to local charities, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard and Big Yellow Umbrella.
