A man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a house fire at Leumeah overnight.

Emergency services were called to a home on Telford Street just before 11pm (Saturday, September 16), where they found the house well alight.

Police have been told, the 75-year-old male occupant, had left the home before collapsing.

Fire & Rescue NSW performed CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The man was taken to Concord Hospital in a critical condition.

Fire fighters extinguished the blaze, which had caused considerable damage to the home.

Officers from Campbelltown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene; however, the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

♦ In a separate incident not too far away from Leumeah, another man was also taken to hospital after his car crashed and rolled during a police pursuit last night.

Just before 10.30pm officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command attempted to stop a Mitsubishi Triton utility on Collins Promenade.

Police pursued the Mitsubishi for a short distance before it crashed and rolled while the driver was attempting to turn at the roundabout intersection of Pembroke Road and Ben Lomond Road.

The passenger, a 28-year-old man, was assisted out of the vehicle while the driver, a 25-year-old man, climbed out.

The driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Police allege the vehicle was involved in a fraud incident prior to the pursuit.

Inquiries into the matter are continuing, with charges anticipated, police said.
