Renowned hip hop artist L-Fresh the Lion will be on hand to provide advice to up and coming musicians at Sunset Sounds – Hip Hop edition.
It’s part of the search for the region’s talented young hip hop and rap artists to showcase their talents during Sunset Sounds at the Campbelltown Arts Centre next month.
The latest event comes off the back of the successful rock music showcase in March.
Sunset Sounds gives young up and coming artists a chance to showcase their talents in front of an audience and industry professionals.
L-Fresh the Lion, pictured above, will MC the event that will be held from 6pm to 9pm, on Saturday, August 24 at the arts centre.
It should be noted that Sunset Sounds is not a competition: among other things, performers will receive advice on stage presence, musicianship, originality and song writing.
Anyone interested in performing can complete the online expression of interest form on Campbelltown Council’s website before next Wednesday, July 31.
All performers must be aged between 12 and 24 years.
A panel of young people and music professionals will go through the entries and select artists to perform on the night.
“Council is passionate about giving young musicians a platform to showcase their talents,” says Mayor George Brticevic.
“Sunset Sounds – Hip Hop Edition offers a unique opportunity for performers to get advice from industry professionals and perform in front of an audience,” Cr Brticevic said.
Audience tickets will cost $5 and include entry and a burrito served up by Guzman Y Gomez, Macarthur Square.
