Help Kids of Macarthur
Help Kids of Macarthur – let them wrap your presents at Macarthur Square in December, right up until Christmas Eve.

If you go to Macarthur Square to buy presents in December you could kill two birds with one stone.

Firstly, you buy the presents for your loved ones –  that’s the first bird ticked.

If you then go upstairs to the old RM Williams store, you will find some wonderful Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation volunteers who will wrap your presents for a gold coin donation.

It’s not much money, but it will all be going towards the health care of local kids, so please try to support this gift wrapping service between December 4 and until Christmas Eve.

Denise McGrath, the chief executive officer of Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation, says last year the gift wrapping service was a big success.

“It was a fantastic turnout – hundreds of generous customers let us wrap their gifts for a gold coin donation,’’ Ms McGrath said.

“That money has gone directly towards purchasing much needed paediatric medical equipment at Campbelltown and Camden hospitals.

“Our foundation aims to fund additional equipment and services that are not currently funded by government, so we can keep the region’s sick kids in local hospitals.’’

Ms McGrath said the foundation still needed some volunteer wrappers for the week before Christmas.

“We are just looking for enthusiastic people who can do a three hour shift wrapping for us at Macarthur Square,’’ she said.

“Our team had a lot of fun during the three long weeks of gift wrapping last year; the customers make it fun, they are really supportive.’’

If you are interested in joining the wrapping team for the week before Christmas, please phone 4655 5022 or email ellen@kidsofmacarthur.com.au

♦ This year Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation was the charity partner for Men & Machines 2017, an event that is held in the Macarthur area every two years.

The day was very successful and Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation have received a $6,000 donation from the 2017 Men and Machines event.

Denise McGrath says the money will be going directly to help sick children in the Macarthur area.

“This support is truly appreciated,’’ she said.

“Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters, it is with your support we are able to help change and improve the lives of some very special Macarthur residents, our children.’’
