A proposed Campbelltown kerbside exhibition would give local artists an opportunity to display their creative work in public.
Under a plan being proposed by Labor Councillor Isabella Wisniewska says such an exhibition would also mean the public could purchase artworks directly from local artists.
Cr Wisniewska’s plan will go before council’s monthly meeting tonight as a notice of motion.
She is calling for a report on the feasibility of running a kerbside exhibition, but also looks at opportunities to align its themes with exhibitions held at the Campbelltown Arts Centre.
She also wants the report to outline an opportunities to showcase artworks that correspond with events on the council’s events calendar, including “but not limited to’’ the Fisher’s Ghost Festival.
And Cr Wisniewska wants the report to also look into opportunities the “Campbelltown Kerbside Exhibition’’ may provide for activation and placemaking, particularly within the Campbelltown central business district.
Community Voice of Australia Councillor Masud Khalil’s notice of motion calls for an update on the Pembroke Park upgrade project.
He would like the report to provide an update on the current improvement works at Pembroke Park, including which areas are being improved and the expected completion date.
Cr Khalil is also seeking council support for a report on options to upgrade Pembroke Park into a district park, which would mean “more recreation facilities and amenities, better access and facilities for families, seniors, and young people, improved landscaping and environmentally friendly features, and a safer parking facility.’’
State and Federal funding should be sought to help support funding for such an upgrade of Pembroke Park, says Cr Khalil in his notice of motion.
The meeting tonight (Tuesday, November 11) – the second last for 2025 – will start at 6.30pm.
Great news, about time . I have been displaying my work in Camden Kerbside for several years.
