What’s the buzz when we’re in iso? Be a Busy Bee, that’s what.
Be a Busy Bee is a new section of Campbelltown Council’s website.
There you can find a range of material to help you make your home more sustainable or enjoy outdoor activities while practising social distancing.
Be a Busy Bee environmental education packs mean parents and carers can teach their kids about the vibrant and diverse array of creatures and critters that call Campbelltown’s bushland home.
These free education packs include a series of activities such as citizen science experiments; backyard and balcony scavenger hunts; insect investigations; activities to meet different plants and animals, DIY projects and games.
“We know that one of the best ways for our community to come out of this stronger than ever is to stay busy and build connections with their family and local environment,” says Campbelltown Mayor George Brticevic.
“The packs contain fun activities that will excite interest in children while they’re home from school and are a great way of getting outdoors and getting a bit of exercise,” Cr Brticevic said.
“One of the best ways we can protect our local flora and fauna is by helping children learn more about them so that they understand their importance to the local ecosystem,” he said.
“You’ll be surprised at some of the facts about our amazing plants and animals so it’s sure to be a learning experience for the parents as well the kids.”
