The realisation of a vision for the future of the Ingleburn town centre is one step closer, with Campbelltown City Council currently seeking community feedback on a draft structure plan which will guide development of the vibrant business and commercial hub.

The plan is the culmination of ideas and feedback received following an extensive community consultation process that took place in 2014 involving a series of practical and informative workshops, a dedicated website and online surveys.

The draft Ingleburn Structure Plan seeks to encourage new growth and promote the revitalisation of the centre, which serves as Campbelltown’s second CBD within the northern part of the local government area.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said the plan acknowledged the important role that Ingleburn would continue to play in the future of Campbelltown City.

“A focus of business and community interactions, the Ingleburn centre has long played a major role in the growth of our city and council is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders to see this continue through investment in infrastructure, job creation and quality lifestyle opportunities,” Cr Lake said.

“As a thriving urban centre with a rich history, it is our aim to ensure Ingleburn’s unique identity is strengthened in the wake of sustained growth and in line with the State Government’s recognition of Campbelltown as a Regional City Centre in its own right.

“I encourage everyone to have a say on this important planning framework, which paves the way for Ingleburn to meet its full potential through greater accessibility and connectivity, as well as improved amenity and the creation of new public spaces,” Cr Lake added.

The proposed Ingleburn Structure Plan is on public exhibition until Friday, February 6.
