I’d welcome enquiry: Mayor Ned Mannoun.

Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun has today written to the Minister for Local Government, Mr Paul O’Toole, to inform him that he would welcome an enquiry into any of the claims made in parliament by Shooters Party MLC Robert Borsak on September 10.

The claims were aimed at Mayor Ned Mannoun and Liverpool Council CEO Car Wulff.

Mr Mannoun will table the letter at tonight’s council meeting (Wednesday, September 30) as part of a Mayoral Minute.

“In the interests of transparency, I am writing to inform you that I would welcome an enquiry into any of the lies purported by Mr Borsak,’’ the mayor said in his letter to the minister.

The council is scheduled to discuss a notice of motion by Cr Peter Ristevski which also wants the council to request the minister to hold an enquiry into the Borsak claims.

Mayoral minutes take precedence over notices of motion, so Mr Mannoun will get in first with his call for an enquiry.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6pm and it opens with members of the public addressing the council, followed by Mayoral Minutes and then Notices of Motion.

Mr Mannoun has just told the South West Voice that he expected his motion calling on the minister to have an enquiry to be discussed together with Cr Ristevski’s notice of motion.

There are 11 notices of motion tabled by councillors for tonight’s meeting, which means that it’s likely to be a long night for any residents planning to attend.
