Hip hop artist Jimblah has taken up a residency at the Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Known for his work as a producer, MC and vocalist, Jimblah – also known as James Alberts – will work on material for an exciting new project in collaboration with upcoming songwriter and soul singer Georgia B. The pair will conclude the residency with a performance show at the arts centre this coming Saturday, October 15 with very special guests, Coda Conduct.
“We are excited to have an artist of Jimblah’s calibre here at Campbelltown Arts Centre,” says director Michael Dagostino.
“His work will open up a world of opportunity, not only for our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community who will have access to an amazing mentor, but for our audiences to connect with such a talented, multifaceted artist.
“As for the performance on Saturday, with Coda Conduct in support, this is going to be an amazing show.’’
As part of the residency, Jimblah and Georgia B are hosting workshops for local primary and high school aged children.
Indigenous students at St Johns Primary School will have the opportunity to write and record a song with Jimblah and Georgia B.
Students of music at Thomas Reddall High School will also benefit from the pair’s knowledge of technology-based composition during a two hour workshop.

Based in Canberra and hailing from the Larrakia Nation in the Northern Territory’s Top End, Jimblah is influenced by, and has a great knowledge of, a wide range of artists and musical genres.
His early career included taking out the inaugural Hilltop Hoods Initiative in 2007 and he was featured as an Artist of the Week by triple j Unearthed.
In 2012 Jimblah signed to Elefant Traks where he joined a collection of artists that included The Herd, Urthboy and Hermitude.
The label re-released Jimblah’s debut album Face The Fire ahead of the release of his follow up work Phoenix.
Universally adored by critics and fans, the album quickly took up the #1 position on the AIR Chart and eventually saw Jimblah shortlisted as a finalist for the prestigious Australian Music Prize (AMP).
Since the release of Phoenix, Jimblah has continued to write and produce new music and has been involved in some stunning collaborations.
