 Harrington Forest Frolic
Into the wild we go: a group taking part in a previous Harrington Forest Frolic sets off.

The Harrington Forest Frolic on June 16 will offer locals a wildlife adventure right here in the heart of the Macarthur region.

It’s part of the National Parks Association’s Bush Mates project run in collaboration with Camden Council, which aims to get people in new housing developments connected to their local bushland.

There will be a walk at Harrington Forest in Harrington Park, talks, face painting, workshops, games, a free barbecue and a plant give away.

“It’s also the perfect opportunity to get out into the bush and learn more about the critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland,” says Stephanie Clark, the citizen science officer of National Parks Association of NSW.

“Bring along friends and family to this kid friendly event and get the chance to go on a guided nature walk through Harrington Forest, learn more about your local biodiversity, play games and get your face painted, check out fun activities, and enjoy a good ol’ fashioned barbecue.

“We will also be giving away free native plants,” says Ms Clark.

Everyone’s invited to the Harrington Forest Frolic on Saturday, June 16 from 9 to 12.30pm. Meet at Scanlon Crescent, Harrington Park

“If you’re a local we suggest walking or wheeling to the event to enjoy a full day in the outdoors and a happy planet,’’ Ms Clark said.
