Rugby correspondent ANDREW CHOICE reports that the Campbelltown Harlequins are two from two after big wins on the weekend, success for the club’s juniors on Sunday, and how a club stalwart played in the Hong Kong 10s final:
A Harlequins first‑grade side disrupted by three late withdrawals travelled to Wollongong on Saturday to face Tech Tahs, pictured above.
The loss of forward weight was immediately noticeable, with Quins looking disjointed early.
Despite this, they surged to a 26–5 halftime lead, showing flashes of their trademark attacking style.
The second half proved far more frustrating: three tries were disallowed, and a heavily lopsided penalty count against Harlequins prevented any real continuity.
With injuries mounting, the bench was emptied as Quins battled through a string of confusing decisions.
Even so, they remained in control throughout and powered home to a 50–24 victory.
Second‑rower Ben Movic led from the front, anchoring a spirited forward performance that now sees Harlequins sitting with a two from two start to the 2026 season.
Withdrawals from first grade hit the second‑grade side hardest, leaving them short on depth and combinations.
But in true Harlequins fashion, they rallied brilliantly to claim a courageous 41–31 win.
The result keeps Harlequins undefeated in both grades after two rounds – an outstanding early‑season platform.

On Sunday, Harlequins hosted Round 4 of the Illawarra junior rugby gala day at the Campbelltown Showground, with 15 matches played across all age groups (pictured above).
Harlequins’ junior sides delivered a dominant display, recording big wins from Under 9s through to Under 18s, with the only exception being the Under 12s, who went down narrowly in a spirited effort.
A fantastic day for the club and a strong sign of the depth building through the junior ranks.
Meanwhile, overseas in Hong Kong, long‑serving Harlequins prop Elijah Sa represented the club with distinction at the prestigious Hong Kong 10s, widely regarded as the world’s premier tens tournament and a lead‑in to the famous Hong Kong Sevens.
Sa, pictured below offloading the ball, was invited to join the world‑renowned French invitational touring side, the Froggies, who advanced all the way to the final.
In a gripping contest celebrating the tournament’s 40th anniversary, Froggies fell just short against traditional powerhouse YCAC, losing by the narrowest of margins after a late second‑half try and a desperate try‑saving tackle sealed the result.
