Group to face court over baby formula theft in Mt Annan

Four men have been charged over the theft of baby formula and cosmetics from two local supermarkets yesterday and will face court next month.

About 4.30pm (Saturday, October 20), police were called to a shopping centre in Mount Annan after two men were seen allegedly stealing baby formula from a store.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and stopped four men as they were getting into a vehicle in the car park.

During a search of the car, police located and seized a large amount of baby formula and cosmetics.

It’s alleged the items, valued at more than $2,500, had been stolen from two supermarkets within the Mount Annan shopping centre.

Both Coles and Woolworths have stores in Mount Annan.

Drug paraphernalia was also located and seized from the car during the search by police officers.

The four men, who are aged 55, 33, 35 and 36, – were arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where each was charged with multiple offences.

Charges included stealing from a retail store, and possessing goods suspected of being stolen.

They were given conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on November 13 this year.
