Official launch of campaign: Greg Warren on Sunday with deputy NSW Labor leader Michael Daley and Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic.

In so many ways Campbelltown MP Greg Warren has been in campaign mode from the moment he was first elected on March 28, 2015.

There has not been a week when he hasn’t advocated a policy change or slammed the Coalition Government for a decision he thought could have been better.

But now he has made it official by launching his re-election campaign for the March 23, 2019 NSW election.

The campaign launch – held yesterday, Sunday, October 14, was attended by a host of Labor dignitaries including deputy NSW Labor leader Michael Daley, Prospect MP Hugh McDermott, Wollongong MP Paul Scully and Macquarie Fields MP Anoulack Chanthivong.

During his speech Mr Warren stressed there was still a lot of work to be done for the constituents of Campbelltown.

“The community of Campbelltown is like no other – it is diverse, selfless and changing at a rapid rate,’’ he said.

“We have achieved a lot since 2015 but there is still much, much more that needs to be done and if elected following the March 23, 2019 election, I will continue to fight for the best outcomes for our community.’’

Mr Warren said rail infrastructure continues to be one of the biggest complaints from residents in this area.

He pointed to a shortage of commuter car parking, unreliable services and train carriages well past their used by date.

“A NSW Labor government will reassess the disastrous 2017 train timetable change which saw direct services from Campbelltown to Parramatta axed,’’ Mr Warren told the party faithful at his official launch.

“This state government have placed public education in Campbelltown in a vulnerable position that should have, and could have, been avoided.

“There is a maintenance backlog of almost $10 million facing local schools and more than 180 classrooms are still without air-conditioning.

“A NSW Labor government will address the needs of our local schools and air-condition every public classroom throughout Campbelltown and the rest of the state.

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“We will also save Campbelltown’s precious koala population by establishing a 4,000 hectare koala national park from Appin to Glenfield and a $3 million koala care centre.[/social_quote]

“It has been an absolute privilege to serve the people of Campbelltown for almost four years and I hope to remain as your Campbelltown MP after March 23.”
