Campbelltown MP Greg Warren is calling for nominations for the 2016 Campbelltown Grandparent of the Year Award.

The Grandparent of the Year Awards celebrates the role grandparents and older people play in our community.

Mr Warren said the awards were an opportunity for younger generations to recognise the many ways that grandparents and older people enriched our lives and communities.

“Grandparents and older people do so much to make our community a better place to live and work,” Mr Warren said.

“These awards are an opportunity for us to thank them for the contribution they make across many different areas of community life.

“If you know a grandparent or older person who is making a difference in Campbelltown, then nominate them today.”

Nominations for the 2016 Campbelltown Grandparent of the Year Awards are open until 5pm on Friday, October 14.

The winner will be personally presented with their certificate on Friday, October 28, ahead of NSW Grandparents Day on Sunday, October 30.

NSW Grandparents Day was launched by the NSW Government in 2011 and is a key initiative under the NSW Ageing Strategy.

For details and nomination forms email campbelltown@parliament.nsw.gov.au or call 4625 3344.
