Are you a musician? Do you want to perform in front of thousands of people at Macarthur’s largest music festival?

Campbelltown City Council is seeking expressions of interest from local acts to audition to perform at the 20th annual Fisher’s Gig youth music festival at Bradbury Oval.

Fisher’s Gig 2017 is a drug and alcohol free, all ages event, and a platform for young artists and performers, 12 to 24, to display their talent to a vast audience.

It is held as part of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said Fisher’s Gig was a great opportunity for local musicians and singers to experience performing in front of a live audience, in a professional environment, and to have a bit of fun.

“I’m sure there’s lots of undiscovered musical talent in Campbelltown – and the wider Macarthur area – and Fisher’s Gig gives artists the opportunity to be noticed, and may be a launching pad to a career in the music industry,” he said.

Council is inviting all acts, including bands and solo artists, to apply to audition for this year’s event, with pre-selection heats to be held in July.

Expressions of Interest are now open and close on Monday, June 5.

On Friday and Saturday, July 28-29, at the Greg Percival Community Centre, Ingleburn a panel of judges and the audience will decide which performers make up the final line-up at the Fisher’s Gig heats.
