Kick some goals with extra funding: Greg Warren with opposition Sport and Recreation spokesman Guy Zangari.

Campbelltown MP Greg Warren is encouraging sporting clubs and organisations in the Campbelltown region to apply for up to $25,000 each from the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

“Campbelltown is fortunate to be home to a wide range of clubs and organisations in all kinds of sports and the Local Sport Grant Program is yet another opportunity to build on and improve the great work already being done by our local sporting clubs,” Mr Warren said.

“I strongly urge all sporting clubs and organisations in the Campbelltown region to consider applying for a grant.”

The program, operated by the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation, aims to increase regular and ongoing participation in sport and active recreation and will provide $50,000 worth of grants in the Campbelltown electorate.

♦ Grants are available within the following categories:

• Sport club development;

• Community sports events;

• Sports access;

• Facility development and capital equipment.

Late last year Mr Warren announced 14 local not-for-profit organisations, including five sporting clubs, would receive a share in $300,000 worth of grants under the Community Building Partnership Program.

Applications for grants are open until February 11, with full details on how to apply available at the sport and recreation website.
