Metro Property Development has confirmed the sale of the Bingara Gorge Golf Course to Golf NSW for an undisclosed price

Metro says the sale is a significant step in establishing Wilton as one of NSW’s premier golfing and lifestyle destinations.

Bingara Gorge Golf Course spans 90 hectares and features an 18-hole, par-72 championship course with a maximum length of 6,690 metres.

Designed by renowned golfer Graham Marsh, it has long been a centrepiece of the Bingara Gorge community and is recognised as one of South West Sydney’s most scenic and technically impressive courses.

The sale includes the full 18 holes and associated golf infrastructure including two new golf bridges that Metro will deliver as part of the agreement.

Construction of the bridges will commence mid-2026 with completion anticipated by mid-2027.

“The sale reflects Metro’s strategy of partnering with leading specialist operators to elevate key community assets,’’ said Metro property development managing director Luke Hartman.

“Metro is a residential developer and our focus has always been on finding the right partners to operate important amenities.

“Golf NSW brings the vision, expertise and ambition needed to take this world-class course to its fullest potential, reinforcing Bingara Gorge as the premier community in South West Sydney.

“We spoke with leading figures across the golf sector to identify the right long-term custodian for the course.

“Golf NSW has been looking for the right asset for some time and Bingara Gorge presented the ideal alignment.

“Their aspiration to elevate the course to championship standard and establish major training and development facilities will significantly benefit the community and the broader region,” Mr Hartman said.

Golf NSW chief executive officer Stuart Fraser said Bingara Gorge offered the rare opportunity to secure a premium course in one of the state’s fastest growing regions.

“Our vision is to enhance the course to championship level, whilst offering an accessible, fun and inclusive experience for golfers of all standards and demographics,” he said.

“A key focus will be driving participation initiates and offering golfing programs to the local community. We look forward to working closely with Metro and the community as we bring this vision to life,” Mr Fraser said.

Mayor of Wollondilly Matt Gould welcomed Golf NSW to the Wollondilly Shire.
