The NSW Environment Protection Authority holds a series of Chemical CleanOut events in partnership with local councils each year to allow residents to dispose of chemicals safely and free of charge.
The next Chemical CleanOut event in the Macarthur area will be on the weekend of July 11-12.
Residents will need to to take the chemicals they want to get rid of to 59-61 Junction Road, Leumeah.
The drop off site will operate from 9am and close at 3.30pm on both days.
You can drop off the following items for disposal:
· Paint and paint related products
· Pesticides and herbicides
· Solvents and household cleaners
· Motor oils and fuels
· Batteries and fluorescent tubes
· Gas bottles and fire extinguishers
· Pool and hobby chemicals
Only household quantities (up to 20 litres or 20kg of any one item) will be accepted.
Remember to handle and transport chemicals carefully.
