It’s the middle of winter and the start of the cricket season still two months away, but the Campbelltown Camden District Cricket Club is already on the ball, planning for success in 2015-16.

This week it has announced its first grade captains for the 2015-16 Sydney Cricket Association Premier Cricket first grade competitions.

In the men’s team the Ghosts have gone for youth, with 22 year old Josh Clarke given the reins, while Claire Koski was reappointed as skipper of the women’s team.

Scott Coyte has stood down as captain but will mentor young Clarke during the season.

“I’ve enjoyed the last three seasons and the young blokes are really finding out what it takes,’’ Coyte said.

“I look forward to assisting Josh who at 22 years of age is a very mature cricketer”.

Clarke was informed of the decision while playing in

England where he remains until September.

“I have fellow Ghosts players who are driven and willing to work hard to achieve our success and who also happen to be great mates,” the Ghosts skipper elect said.

Josh is currently enjoying another English cricket season where he has already compiled three centuries, reinforcing his Player of the League award the previous season before. (Click here if you wish to follow Josh Clarke’s current English season)

Claire Kiski has been reappointed captain of the Ghosts women’s team

♦ Claire Koski has been reappointed as the Ghosts first grade women’s captain on the back of her success last season with her young team making the semi finals.

That team is intact and now more experienced, including International player Sarah Coyte and plenty of them selected in NSW squads.

Claire will juggle her Ghosts leadership with playing for the Australian Capital Territory in the Women’s National League and the Women’s Big Bash League.

• The Ghosts off season program is well under way with players working hard in preparation for the official pre-season which begins in August.
