[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Campbelltown Camden District Cricket Club has one of the largest female participation rates in Australia.
But it is now set to get even bigger with the launch of a Ghosts female cricket academy to take place during the off season.
It will be run by expert coaches and Ghosts high performance first grade women players.
The “Feel the Spirit’’ academy, which will start on May 9, will cater to female players of all levels.
“We aim to continue to produce quality young players and assist younger girls still enjoying the game at club level,’’ a Ghosts spokesperson said.
“The talent of female cricket in the district is growing as the women’s game becomes more professional.

The academy will be launched at the club’s Raby clubhouse on Wednesday, April 18 from 7pm.
The 10 week program will offer specialist batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping skills coaching.
Head coach James Broadbent boasts Cricket Australia (CA) level 2 accreditation.
A former Ghosts first grade player, Broadbent is the Ghosts women’s head coach and also the cricket coach at Westfields Sports High School.
His assistant coach at the Ghosts Women’s Academy will be Hannah Trethewy, who holds CA level 1 accreditation and CA level 2 in training.
A Ghosts women’s first grade player, Trethewy counts the NSW Lendlease Breakers and Sydney Thunder WBBL03 squads among her achievements.
She is currently studying Sport and Exercise Management at UTS.
The specialist coaches for the academy will be first grade Ghosts players Lauren Cheatle, Clara Iemma and Hannah Darlington.
Cheatle’s achievements include the Southern Stars. NSW Breakers and the Sydney Sixers.
Clara Iemma has played for ACT Meteors and Sydney Sixers, while Hannah Darlington boasts Sydney Thunder squad selection and all CA and CNSW pathways.
