International Games Day @ Your Library is coming to Campbelltown on November 19.

Next month Campbelltown City Library will be among more than 1,000 libraries around the world which will celebrate International Games Day @ Your Library.

On that special day, Saturday, November 19, from 10.30am and until 2.30pm, HJ Daley Library will host games for all ages, including board games like Monopoly, Chess, Twister and Pictionary, games on Nintendo Wii, and coding demonstrations using the Scratch program.

But wait, there’s more: library visitors will be able to create their own games through a variety of craft activities.

Including playing a game or two of quidditch with the popular Macarthur Weasleys on the grass outside the library.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said International Games Day @ Your Library would be a lot of fun, and he encouraged the community to come along.

“This is the first time Campbelltown City Library has participated in International Games Day and we’re keen to show local residents there is so much more to libraries than just books and reading,” he said.

“It’s for people of all ages so bring your family or friends and spend the day playing games, and help us celebrate how much our libraries contribute to our community.”

The event is free and no bookings are required.
