The Macarthur community stepped back to the 1980s to help Youth Solutions celebrate 30 years of service – and raise some money for the local charity group.
Ruffles, mullets, taffeta and glitter filled The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club in an ’80s prom themed charity event last weekend which raised $41,500 for Youth Solutions.
Youth Solutions CEO Geraldine Dean said that this was the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year and was thrilled with its success.
“The amount raised is our highest in Youth Solutions’ history and on behalf of the team, board, fundraising committee and our young people, thank you to the sponsors, donors and guests who made the event the huge success it was,” Mrs Dean said.
“The atmosphere on the night was incredible and we really felt the community’s support.
“All of the funds raised will greatly contribute to our many programs and services – to help keep our young people safe as well as build resilience and skills to reduce youth drug and alcohol related harm,’’ Mrs Dean said.
“We are looking forward to planning next year’s event and doing it all again – save Saturday 27 July 2019 in your calendar and watch this space for the theme!”
