
Four teenagers ended up in handcuffs following a pursuit with police from Campbelltown to the Eastern Suburbs this morning.
About 10.30am today officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attempted to stop a Mazda CX3, which was reportedly stolen from a home in Victoria yesterday, on the Hume Highway near Edmondson Park.
When the driver failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated by police officers
The pursuit continued along the M5 Motorway towards the M7 at Prospect before it was terminated due to safety concerns.
With the assistance of Polair, the vehicle was tracked travelling along the M5 Motorway at Milperra, where the pursuit was re-engaged.
Multiple resources assisted; however, the pursuit was terminated after items were thrown from the vehicle towards police.
Polair continued to track the vehicle eastbound along the M5 Motorway, through the local streets of inner city suburbs of Alexandria, Zetland, Centennial Park, Randwick, and Bondi Junction.
The vehicle was eventually dumped inside the bus interchange at Bondi Junction Railway Station, with all four occupants jumping out and running onto the platform.
Plainclothes officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command proactive crime team spotted the individuals involved, before a foot pursuit commenced.
Two teenage boys aged 14, and two girls aged 12 and 17, were arrested by police, who were assisted by officers on their first day as probational constables.
The four young people were taken to Surry Hills Police Station and are currently assisting police with inquiries.
