A former police officer from the Macarthur region will appear in court today charged over alleged sexual and domestic violence-related offences.

In January 2022, officers from Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation after attending a local property, where they located a security camera secreted in an air conditioning duct.

The camera was seized and underwent forensic examination.

Police will allege in court that a number of files were retrieved depicting female occupants of the home, who are known to the man, which were taken between March 2020 and January 2022.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators attended an address at Theresa Park about 8.40am yesterday (Thursday, June 9) and arrested a 43-year-old man.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 24 counts of filming a person in a private act without consent.

The accused was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday, June 10).

He is no longer a NSW Police Force employee, having resigned in April 2021.
