What does Frankie Valli’s I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You have to do with a food drive in Macarthur? Well, let me tell you.
MWLP Linking Youth facilitate work placement for local students who are approaching that time when they need to start thinking about their careers.
So when MWLP decided to run a social enterprise/food drive they enlisted students currently studying business services.
Students from a variety of local schools undertaking their work placements with MWLP for four weeks signed up for the project, which is called Needy Feeds.

The project will assist families doing it tough and in need of help in the current economic climate.
The Salvos at Macquarie Fields have come on board and will distribute all the food collected.
Students meanwhile, being young people, will have fun even when doing good deeds, so they have also opened social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram to promote Needy Feeds.
They have just posted a mini video of some of the students involved covering Frankie Valli’s classic song.
The students have set a donation target of 2,000 non-perishable food items, including canned food, long-life milk, breakfast cereals, pasta, and muesli bars.
Donation packs can be delivered to MWLP at 1 Bolger St, Campbelltown (opposite Macarthur Square) or a pickup can be arranged by contacting MWLP on 4625 1863.
There is also collection box at Pharmacy 4 Less Macarthur
As part of the project, the student team has also visited The Salvation Army Australia in Macquarie Fields to get a better understanding of where their donations will be going and who they will be helping.
“This was a great learning experience for our team and helped us have a greater appreciation for the Salvation Army and everything they do for our community,’’ the students posted on social media afterwards.
Donations will be accepted until the end of September.
