One of the first things Greg Warren did on getting elected in March 2015 was to drop into Manse House in Lithgow Street, Campbelltown to meet and greet staff and volunteers from Macarthur Diversity Services Initiative (MDSI).
The MP saw that the historic building needed a bit of a facelift, so supported an application for funding to do the work.
Today Mr Warren went back to Manse House to meet and greet the staff and volunteers once again.
But this time they were celebrating the re-opening of Manse House after extensive renovations thanks to his support and some funding from Canberra.
“One of the first places I visited after I was elected as the local MP last year was MDSI at the Manse House. The condition of the building was quite poor and I knew then that something had to be done to fix it up,’’ Mr Warren said today.
“The team of staff and volunteers at MDSI, in conjunction with Campbelltown City Council, worked hard to put a really strong submission together, and once it was received I had no hesitation in recommending it for full funding.

Mr Warren earlier today joined Dr Mike Freelander, the Macarthur MP, for an open day at the heritage listed building.
MDSI was recommended for $44,800 of funding by Mr Warren in last year’s Community Building Partnership program, and after receiving the grant were able to undertake significant repairs and repainting of walls on the interior and exterior of the house.
Funds provided by the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities program were also used for landscaping works on the grounds.
