If you have a young family and only attend one thing during this year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost, make it Fisher’s Kids on Sunday, November 5.
Campbelltown Arts Centre’s gardens and gallery will be transformed into a fun space for children and their families to create, explore and play, between 10am and 2pm
Organisers promise that this year’s event will be a jam-packed, unforgettable day of hands-on fun and creativity.
The free event is designed for children and their families to create and collaborate, as marvellous creatures and extraordinary spaces are brought to life through the power of imagination.
Kids will dance along to the rhythms of Matavai Cultural Arts, build a monster sculpture with artist and puppeteer Aesha Henderson, and then watch it to perform alongside alien girl band Dweeb City.
They’ll have the opportunity to discover the mysteries of the “house party’’, where everything is alive, and help the manservant, Ugly Mugz, summon the Great Samhain to demonstrate how to build a clay pinch pot portrait.
Outside in the gardens there will be fun activities, including an insect display where kids will discover a miniature world of beautiful patterns and ginormous monsters and creepy crawly craft, delicious snow cones and much more to explore.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said Fisher’s Kids was an opportunity for kids to not only have a lot of fun, but be exposed to, and inspired by art and creativity.
“Families can enjoy Fisher’s Kids together, and given it’s held in our stunning Arts Centre gardens and gallery, I’d also recommend checking out the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award Exhibition, which includes a range of artistic disciplines from some very talented artists,” he said.
