Entries are now open for the 2015 Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run, so join the party and be in the running to win great prizes as you celebrate Campbelltown’s biggest community event – The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.

This year marks the 60th annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost, and from start to finish, it will be 10 days of ghostly good fun, beginning with the Carnival on November 6 and concluding with the Fun Run on November 15.

Held annually in the grounds of the University of Western Sydney and the NSW TAFE South Western Sydney Institute Campbelltown campuses, the Fun Run starts at 8am and features a scenic 5km or 10km course. Its major sponsor is again Marsdens Law Group.

There are four team categories for the 5km course, including primary school, high school, corporate and open.

Corporate and open teams can also compete over the 10km track. Walkers are welcome in all events.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said council was proud to host the annual Fun Run – an inclusive event catering for all ages and abilities, and bringing the community together.

“From art to music to carnival rides, the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost offers something for everyone, and while the Fun Run is an opportunity for serious runners to compete, it’s also a great event for people who just want to walk the course and enjoy the atmosphere,” Cr Lake said.

The entry fee is $30 for adults and $20 for children under 16 years. A new family ticket for two adults and two children is $90, but only if you register before race day. All entrants who complete the course will receive a free t-shirt and there are trophies and prizes on offer.

Competitors can enter online via the official festival website, or pick up an entry form from a number of convenient locations, including Council’s Civic Centre or Eagle Vale Central.

In person registrations close on October 14 at 4.30pm, online entries close at 11.59pm on November 11. Participants who register after October 14 must collect their bib number from the race venue concourse on November 14 from 9am to 1pm, or before 7.45am on race day.
