More than 600 people visited Figtree Hill on Sunday for the opening of Macarthur’s newest display village.
The community’s inaugural Big Day Out gave South West Sydney families a first look at the village, featuring homes from 22 builders as part of an eventual 46-home line-up.
The village showcases a range of designs and approaches to maximising space, including homes suited to narrower blocks.
Homebuyers had the opportunity to explore 30 completed display homes, with some house and land packages priced under $1 million.
McDonald Jones Homes Sydney sales manager Lisa Barrett said buyers were increasingly seeking spacious, functional homes that maximise every square metre, particularly on narrower blocks.
“We’re seeing strong demand from families wanting four or more bedrooms, multiple living areas and flexible spaces that adapt to changing lifestyles,” Ms Barrett said.
“With land becoming increasingly limited across South West Sydney’s growth corridors, buyers want homes that deliver space and functionality without requiring a larger lot. Smart design has become more important than ever.
“Families want homes that work harder for them, whether that means a dedicated study for remote work, additional living zones for growing children or entertaining spaces that bring people together.
“Buyers are prioritising homes that suit their needs today while offering flexibility for the future,’’ she said.
These preferences are shaping contemporary home design, with open-plan layouts, multi-purpose rooms, seamless indoor-outdoor connections and practical storage solutions helping make everyday family life easier.
For Willowdale resident Evelyn Stevens, purchasing land at Stockland’s Figtree Hill offered the opportunity to create a home tailored to her family’s changing needs while remaining in the Macarthur region they know and love.
“With our family growing, we were looking for more space, and Figtree Hill offered the opportunity to build a home that better suits our family’s needs,’’ Ms Stevens said.
“We chose a smaller block that gives us the opportunity to build upwards and create the space we need. Visiting the display village allowed us to explore different designs, meet builders and gather ideas for our future home.’’
Stockland project director Tom Fehon said with new homes, parks, community spaces and amenities taking shape, Figtree Hill is attracting families looking to put down roots in a growing South West Sydney community.
“With homes available for under $1 million, buyers can explore options that suit their lifestyle and budget, while becoming part of a growing master planned community where homes, parks, green spaces and future amenities are designed to work together to make everyday life easier,” Mr Fehon said.
The Figtree Hill Display Village is located at 29 Bunyip Avenue, Gilead. For more information about Figtree Hill, visit www.stockland.com.au/residential/nsw/figtree-hill
