Family fun and delicious food will be on the menu at the 2017 Camden Festival, which gets under way from tomorrow, Saturday, September 9.
Celebrity chef Miguel Maestre will be the headline act at the festival, which will focus on our historic district’s food and produce.
Lovers of wine and gourmet food will be able to eat and drink to their heart’s content at Taste Food, Wine and Music in Camden Town Farm on Sunday, September 24 from noon to 5pm.
Celebrity chef Miguel Maestre will headline the event and present a live cooking demonstration, whipping up traditional Spanish paella for the crowd to sample.
“I invite everyone to come along to our show-stopping event Taste Food and Wine Festival and enjoy live entertainment and an impressive array of fine food, local wines, beers, produce, preserves and food trucks from over 35 stalls,” says the mayor of Camden, Lara Symkowiak.
There won’t be a short supply of delicious gourmet food options from 35 food trucks and stalls, as well as wine tasting from some of the region’s best wine makers.
Appropriately, this highlight will help close the 2017 festival in great style.
“This festival is a wonderful way to step into spring and celebrate the people, places and produce of the Camden area with family and friends,” Cr Symkowiak said.
“Our growing local community can enjoy beautifully decorated venues, sample delicious food from a variety of food stalls and wine from the region’s best wine makers,” she said.
To kick-start the festival, an outdoor picnic extravaganza Picnic in the Park this Sunday, September 10, from 10am to 4pm at Macarthur Park offers plenty of outdoor fun for families, including children’s entertainment, plenty of desserts from churros, scones and pancakes.
The family fun will continues at the Kid’s Fun Day on Wednesday, September 13 from 10am to 2pm at Curry Reserve.
The event will feature roving entertainment, an appearance by Batman and the Batmobile, face painting, clowns, an animal farm and more.
Gather the kids around for an ultimate outdoor movie experience watching Moana at Cinema Under the Stars at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan on Saturday 16 September from 4pm to 9pm.
Bask in the sights of the night sky, pack a picnic, bring a rug and enjoy pre movie entertainment and attractions including Hawaiian themed activities, lay throwing games, coconut bowling and pizza.
