A former female juvenile justice officer has been charged over historic child sex offences allegedly committed at the Reiby Juvenile Justice Centre in Campbelltown.
Strike Force Redcliffe, comprising detectives from Campbelltown Local Area Command, was established to investigate allegations of sexual abuse by former juvenile justice officers at the detention centre located in Airds opposite the local high school.
The allegations were raised at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse.
Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force detectives arrested a 43-year-old woman at a home in Padstow Heights about 8.45am today (Tuesday, May 23).
She was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where she was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
