Young musicians take note: The panel of experts for the FBi radio open day in Campbelltown on October 21 will include Jack River.

Macarthur’s up and coming musicians will have the opportunity to meet some of the movers and shakers in the industry later this month.

That’s when FBi Radio, in partnership with Campbelltown City Council, will bring its Music Open Day to Campbelltown

Bands and musicians are encouraged to come along to the free open day at Campbelltown Arts Centre on Friday, October 21 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, to meet each other, share their work and gain valuable advice from industry professionals.

A panel of experts – including musician Jack River, I OH YOU! Records founder Johann Ponniah, Dom O’Connor from St Jerome’s Laneway Festival and Lunatic Entertainment, and Monique Rothstein from PR agency Positive Feedback – will answer questions about starting out in the music industry.

Musicians are encouraged to bring along music demos, short bios and track lists and get personalised advice from FBi Radio music director Stephen Goodhew.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the open day would provide Macarthur’s many talented musicians with an invaluable opportunity for professional development.

“Council is pleased to be able to support our local musicians through events like the FBi Music Open Day and Fisher’s Gig, part of the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost,” he said.

“I encourage those aiming for a career in the industry to make the most of the advice on offer from professionals who have helped launch the careers of many emerging artists.”
