“It starts with us’’ is the theme for this year’s National Youth Week, which starts on April 8.
Here in Macarthur there are stacks of events and activities as part of youth week, which ends on April 17.
Campbelltown City Council has created an exciting program of free events – from music and entertainment to fashion and fitness – to celebrate the city’s youth and their contributions to the community.
Youth Week is the largest annual youth participation event in Australia, celebrating young people aged 12 to 25 years of age.
This year, Youth Week in Campbelltown has partnered with Macarthur Square and TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute (SWSi) to present “Like No Other’’, a free fashion workshop series during April 11-15.
The series will focus on fashion, beauty, floristry and styling.
Youth Week Campbelltown is also working with Eagle Vale High School and Thomas Reddall High School to showcase local live music at a free Youth Week All Ages Gig.
It will be at Eagle Vale High School on April 15 from 6pm to 9.30pm.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said council was proud to support Youth Week and celebrate the achievements of the city’s youth.
“Youth Week gives young people the opportunity to be part of national event while connecting with their local community,” Cr Hawker said
“Council has facilitated events across sports, arts and culture, highlighting a range of interests, skills and issues concerning young people.
