Three young refugees, from Ukraine, Afghanistan and Syria, will share their personal settlement journeys at a youth and employment expo tomorrow.

They will provide a real world perspective on overcoming challenges and achieving success.

The expo is designed to help South Western Sydney migrants and refugees aged 18-28 by providing them with invaluable information and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The event will offer a range of opportunities aimed at enhancing their prospects by helping them to build meaningful connections and embark on successful life paths.

Those who attend will also have the chance to network with individuals and organisations dedicated to supporting their journey towards education and employment.

Informative sessions will provide in-depth insights into key aspects of education, employment, and personal development.

The interactive Q&A format will encourage attendees to seek clarifications and engage in dialogues.

Hands-on workshops will equip young participants with practical skills that are essential for success in today’s job market, enhancing their employability and career prospects.

Navitas Skilled Futures (NSF), in partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI) and STARTTS (NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors) is hosting the expo.

Violet Roumeliotis, the CEO of SSI, says young refugees have great strength and resilience, and events such as this one were an opportunity to create bonds and learn from one another.

“This is a unique opportunity for young refugees and migrants to access the resources and guidance they need to build a successful future in this country,’’ she said.

The expo is taking place from 10am to 1.30pm tomorrow, Friday, November 24, at the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre, 55 Vine Street.
