I’m delighted to share with you some health and wellbeing tips in this column.

Holistic health has become a particular focus of mine having lived through and survived over 20 years of chronic illness.

I have come to know that every part of us is interconnected and vital to our overall health – the whole is more than the sum of the parts; it is also the interrelation and interdependence of all the parts within us and around us that affect our wellbeing.

When there is a problem or dysfunction in one part of the body, the whole of the body is affected to some degree.

We may perceive that an issue which is located in one particular area in our lives, be it physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual, is contained in that part of us, however when we view our health and wellbeing in this singular way, we overlook the intricate makeup of who we are and interconnectedness of all aspects of us and our interactions with our surroundings.

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]Our wellbeing is dependent on us paying attention to each aspect of our lives, such as food, movement, breathing, relationships and work to ensure that we are engaging in healthy practices.[/social_quote]

Likewise, with illness, particularly of a chronic nature, it is essential to pay attention to all aspects of our lives. This includes any unpleasant experiences or thoughts that we may continue to hold about people or events in our lives.

Healing work that leaves out any aspect of who we are is incomplete and will diminish our ability to attain the best possible healing outcome.

Here’s to good health!
