More medal chances as second local equestrian heads to Paris

A second equestrian from the outer South Western Sydney region has qualified to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

It is Hilary Scott, an equestrian jumper who has lived at the Wollondilly Shire village of The Oaks for most of her life.

Her love of show jumping started during her time with The Oaks Pony Club and has grown from there to the point where she will be going for gold, silver or bronze in Paris.

Hilary Scott, who is 36 years old, is currently based in the Netherlands where she competes across Europe and the USA.

Along with her mother, Alice Cameron, Ms Scott trains an impressive team of horses through the family business, Oaks Sports Horses.

Hilary’s mount for the 2024 Olympic Games, Oaks Milky Way, is one of the best the mother and daughter team have bred.

Mor than that, Hilary Scott and Oaks Milky Way share an unbreakable bond.

On behalf of Wollondilly Shire Council, Mayor Matt Gould has congratulated Hilary Scott for hr selection to the Australian equestrian team for the Paris Games.

Mayor Gould said wished Hilary Scott and Oaks Milky Way all the best as they compete for Australian on the world stage.

“I’m delighted to congratulate Hilary and Milky on selection to the Olympics, they have already made Wollondilly proud,” Mayor Gould said.
