Author Matthew Condon to give talk in Campbelltown Library.
Epic trilogy: Author Matthew Condon will be in Campbelltown next Thursday, May 19 as part of this year’s Sydney Writers Festival.

Police corruption, bribery, illegal gambling, drugs and prostitution: All Fall Down, Matthew Condon’s explosive conclusion to The Three Crooked Kings trilogy, has it all.

Matthew’s epic book wraps up the true story of Queensland Police Commissioner Terry Lewis and his dealings with the “Rat Pack’’ in Queensland during the 1970s and ‘80s, a period rife with criminal activity and corruption.

And Condon will be talking all about that when he visits Campbelltown next week as part of this year’s Sydney Writers Festival.

Condon will give his talk in the Campbelltown Library next Thursday, May 19.

He will talk about the enormous amount of research he amassed to provide unprecedented insight into this notorious time in Australian history.

A journalist and author, Condon has written several novels and works of non-fiction, and is the two-time winner of the Steele Rudd Award for short fiction.

His novels include The Motorcycle CaféThe Pillow Fight and The Trout Opera.

Three Crooked Kings, the first instalment of the trilogy, was published in 2013.

It was awarded the John Oxley Library Award 2013 and was shortlisted for several other awards.

The second volume, Jacks and Jokers, was published in April 2014 and was nominated for a Walkley Award.

The final instalment in the trilogy – All Fall Down – was published in 2015.

His Sydney Writers Festival appearance in Campbelltown is being presented by Campbelltown Library and Ingleburn Library and supported by Western Sydney University.
