Grab your running shoes and start training because entries are now open for the 2017 Marsdens Law Group Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run.
To be held on Sunday 12 November, the run is one of the highlights of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.
The Fun Run sees participants compete over a 5km or 10km course at the Campbelltown campuses of Western Sydney University and TAFE NSW, and caters for all ages and abilities.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said council was proud to host the annual event, bringing the community together on the final day of the popular annual festival.
“As someone who’s taken part in the fun run, I know how satisfying it is to complete the race, and I’d encourage the community to take part, either as a serious competitor or simply to enjoy a healthy activity in a scenic setting,” he said.
With the support of CSR Martini promoting their Safety at Work initiative, the event will be a sea of colour and excitement this year.
The run starts at 8am, and includes age categories; four team categories for the 5km course, including primary school, high school, corporate and open; and two team categories for the 10km course, including corporate and open.
Walkers are welcome in all events.
The entry fee is $35 for adults and $25 for children under 16 years.
For registrations prior to race day, a family ticket for two adults and two children is available for $95.
All entrants who complete the course will receive a free dri-wear event t-shirt, and there are loads of great prizes on offer in the barrel draw.
Competitors can enter online via the official festival website, or pick up an entry form and pay in person at council’s civic centre in Queen Street or at Eagle Vale Central.
In person registrations close 4.30pm on October 18, while online entries will close at 11.59pm on November 8.
Participants who register after October 18 must collect their bib number from the race venue concourse on November 11 between 11am and 2pm, or before 7.45am on race day.
