Some of the most talented Italian-Australian entertainers will give voice to the cause of autism around Australia this month, with concerts planned for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.

Creative director John St Peeters, has confirmed that this year’s concerts will include more than 40 Italian/Australian performers who are coming together to support this amazing Australian tour.

The concerts raise awareness of autism as well as funds to support the work  of the south west Sydney based Autism Advisory & Support Service (AASS).

Labelled “An Italian Event for Autism”, the Sydney concert is on Friday, November 21 at Club Marconi (see end of article for details).

Over the years entertainer/musician John St Peeters, has organised some of the biggest names in Australian showbiz to perform for AASS to help raise awareness and funds.

“When I first met Grace (Grace Fava, founder and president of Autism Advisory and Support Service) I couldn’t believe this lady’s passion to help children with autism and parents who are trying to find the answers,’’ St Peeters said.

“Not only does Grace do so much to help other people, but she also has to look after her two beautiful autistic sons”, he said.

“Autism Advisory and Support Service (AASS) are grateful to John St Peeters for organising this year’s An Italian Event for Autism,” Grace Fava said.

“John has been a wonderful ambassador for AASS, producing this event for the past three years.

“We extend our thanks to the managements who have donated the venues around Australia and our special thanks go to all the artists, production team and sponsors.

“This event will assist AASS raise much needed funds to continue our valuable work.

“More importantly, AASS can raise awareness for autism and the families and carers affected by this disorder that affects more children than childhood cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined.

“Sadly, autism does not receive the awareness or funds these issues do.”

Grace and a wonderful group of parents of children with autism have set out to fill the void in the health care sector encountered by families of children with autism.

AASS is a not for profit charity, and relies on funding grants, donations and sponsorships to meet its operational costs. It has grown in size since its inception and has increased its range of services to assist families Australia wide, and even families from around the world and families affected by other disabilities.

Singer Teresa Vee is the voice behind the AASS  awareness song In My World (Nel Mio Mondo), written by John St Peeters and Michael Yule.
