A man has been charged over a fatal crash at Appin Road earlier this year which claimed the life of a female teacher from John Therry Catholic High School.
Emergency services were called to Appin Road just after 5.30pm on March 21 after a refrigeration truck and a Holden Cruz collided head on.
The driver of the Cruz, a 25-year-old teacher from Thirroul, died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he was treated for arm and neck injuries.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following these investigations, the truck driver was served a court attendance notice last Friday, June 17, for the following offences:
– Dangerous driving occasioning death;
– Negligent driving occasioning death; and
– Not keep left of dividing lane.
The Sanctuary Point man is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday, July 25.
The man’s licence was suspended.
