Do Something Day appeal for household items to help homeless people when a home has been found for them.
Wests Group Macarthur staff, members and their guests are being encouraged to give generously to the Do Something Day appeal for household items to help homeless people when a home has been found for them.

The Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee is a network of community services and government organisations that helps local homeless people get a roof over their head.

But often these homeless people are also in need of household items such as bed linen, toasters, utensils, dinner sets, cutlery and glassware.

This is where Do Something Day comes in.

It’s a partnership between the Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee and Wests Group Macarthur that will provide 100 families in the Macarthur region with the household items they need to make the transition from homeless to having a home a smooth one.

The Do Something Day drive for household items will run for a month, starting from tomorrow, Wednesday, June 27 and until July 25.

Donation of new and as new condition second hand household goods can be dropped off at the reception desks of Wests Leagues Club Leumeah, Country Club Gledswood Hills, Wests Tennis Club and Lakeside Golf Club Camden.

Do Something Day will be formally celebrated on Wednesday, July 25 when the donated items will be handed over to Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee, who will distribute it to families which have been found a home.

[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“This Do Something Day partnership between Wests and Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee is a practical way to support the growing number of hidden homeless in Macarthur with our Group acting as a drop off point for donations of new and as new household items,’’ said Wests Group Macarthur CEO, Tony Mathew.[/social_quote]

“The donations will allow the Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee to assist so many local families,’’ Mr Mathew said.
