Drawn match: the Lions batsmen ran out of time to reach their target when rain forced play to be abandoned early.

The Liverpool Fairfield Lions cricket club first grade side will be hoping for a change of fortune when they travel to Chatswood Oval next Saturday to take on Gordon in round four of the Sydney grade competition.
Following their dour draw against Blacktown yesterday in round three, the Lions are now with just one win in the 2014-15 season.
They lost on first innings in the first match of the season against Sutherland.
On Saturday, needing to make 381 to grab first innings points against Blacktown – who declared at 9 for 380 – the Lions just ran out of time in the end, with play being stopped early when a rain storm arrived.
They finished with the loss of two wickets and having amassed 142 runs, still a mountain away from the total required for first innings competition points, but they showed signs that they were going to give the target a bit of a shake.
The two batsmen to lose their wickets in the run chase were Wendel Delpechitra, who made 32, and Dean Attard, who lost his wicket eight runs short of a half century.
When rain stopped play, the not out batsmen for the Lions were Anthony Clark on 46 and Jake Doran on 11.
Doran had also been the main wicket taker for the Lions, bagging four Blacktown scalps, and indeed been a very consistent performer for the team so far this year.
