Raptor Squad investigators have charged a second man over the alleged attempted murder of a 45 year old man in Denham Court last year.

As part of ongoing investigations, Raptor Squad, with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU), arrested a 40-year-old man at Surry Hills about 5pm yesterday, pictured.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with shooting with intent to murder and tampering with evidence.

The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.

The incident occurred on the evening of November 6, 2020, when emergency services were called to Campbelltown Road following reports a man had been shot.

The victim was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Initial inquiries were conducted by officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command, before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Eradore.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal for information, Raptor Squad investigators arrested a 29-year-old man at a home at Maroubra February 23.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with 20 offences, including of stealing a car.

Police alleged in court that the man stole a BMW M4 from a home in Lilyfield in July last year, that was subsequently used in the Denham Court shooting.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Waverley Local Court the following day, and is next due to appear at Central Local Court on May 25.
