Dear Santa: we’d like an A-League licence for Christmas

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]ear Santa: Time flies and here we are again as another Christmas approaches.

I hope you are well and ready for your busiest time of the year.

No doubt you know you have a lot of supporters out here, collecting gifts to make your job a little easier on December 24.

All up, 2018 has been another interesting year, Santa.

I don’t know if you’ve heard but we’ve got another Prime Minister here in the Lucky Country.

Scott Morrison is the new man at the helm and the other day he had to explain to President Trump what had happened to Malcolm.

Here in NSW we’re getting ready for an election next March and a couple of months later Scott Morrison will go to the polls and have to explain to us what happened to Malcolm.

Closer to home, Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic was re-elected for another two year term but he’s got a new deputy, a good fellow called Darcy Lound.

The council is pushing hard for an A-League licence and the Wests Tigers will keep flying the rugby league flag a bit – they will play three NRL games at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in 2019.

Judy Hannan, the mayor of Wollondilly will run as an independent in March.

New Camden mayor, Cr Peter Sidgreaves, will run for the Liberals.

But enough of politics, Santa, let’s cut to the chase and my Top 5 gifts I’d like you to bring me this Christmas:

Number 1. An A-League licence for Macarthur United.

Number 2. A bit of leadership stability in the Lucky Country.

Number 3. A pair of golf shoes.

Number 4. A Fox Sports golf coverage where the captions don’t block the holes on the putting greens.

Number 5. A bit less hyperbole from my colleagues in the media world.
