Cooling off in the hot summer months will be a breeze in Oran Park, following the official opening earlier today of Dawson-Damer Park.
The park is the Camden area’s second water play space.
It features a range of water and non-water activities, including slides, spinners, ninja warrior course, swings, trampolines, basketball facilities, picnic areas and much more.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said Dawson-Damer Park was another facility for residents and visitors to enjoy.
“Oran Park continues to grow, and our local young people now have another fantastic facility which they can enjoy with friends,” Cr Fedeli said.
“We now have Macarthur’s largest water play park right in the heart of the Camden area and coupling that with the other parts of the park including a fantastic ninja warrior style course, trampolines and a half basketball court, I envisage many people young and old enjoying this facility.
“The water play space is also accessible to people of all abilities, has family change rooms and amenities and been awarded Changing Spaces Accreditation.
“While we expect many people visiting the park, it is also important to remember to follow social distancing guidelines and use the QR codes to log in once you arrive. It’s so important we enjoy ourselves in these hotter months, but we need to do so safely.
“I’d like to thank Greenfields Development Company for their collaboration with Camden Council on the space. I believe it is a great addition to our local parks and facilities that our residents can enjoy thoroughly.’’
Greenfields Development Company director Mark Perich said the park was the latest addition to the outstanding community facilities in Oran Park Town.
“Whilst most people will be aware that the park is home to Camden’s largest splash park with 30 water features forming this amazing water play space, the park offers so much more with facilities to suit all ages, Mr Perich said.
The $9 million facility is located at the corner of Dick Johnson Drive and O’Toole Avenue and will be open between 10am-7pm daily through spring and summer.
